How to Boost Google Rankings Using EEAT’s WHO, HOW, WHY Method

If you’re creating content for a website or blog, chances are you’ve heard of Google’s E-E-A-T: Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. But how do you actually apply these principles in your content? Google provides a simple and practical approach to help you evaluate your content's quality:

  • WHO created the content
  • HOW it was created, and
  • WHY it was created.

Let’s dive into these three powerful questions that can make or break your content’s visibility in search.

WHO – Who is the author?

One of the most overlooked, yet important, questions Google asks is: "Who is behind this content?"

Why it matters?

People and search engines both want to know if the content was written by someone credible. Transparency builds trust.

What to include:

  • Full name of the author,
  • Brief author bio with credentials,
  • Links to social or professional profiles (LinkedIn, portfolio, etc.)
  • Author page or team page on the website

Example:

If you’re writing a blog post about medical advice, it's much more trustworthy if it's written by or reviewed by a qualified doctor, with their name and qualifications clearly visible.

Tip: Use a byline and author bio for every article.

HOW – How was the content created?

Next, Google wants to understand: "How did you create this content?"

Why it matters?

Anyone can copy-paste data or use AI to generate words. But real-world experience, original research, and genuine insights are what set valuable content apart.

What to include:

  • Behind-the-scenes info on how the product/service was tested
  • Real photos, screenshots, or videos
  • Disclosure if you used AI tools
  • Personal anecdotes or professional experiences

Example:

Writing a mobile phone review? Don’t just list specs—share your personal experience using the device, battery tests, camera samples, and actual pros/cons.

Tip: Add screenshots, original images, or video snippets to build authenticity.

WHY – Why was the content created?

Lastly, ask yourself the most honest question: "Why did I write this content?"

Was it just to rank on Google and get traffic? Or was it to genuinely help users solve a problem or learn something?

Why it matters:

Google now favors people-first content, not content created just for search engines.

What to reflect on:

  • Does the content answer real user questions?
  • Does it solve a specific problem?
  • Is it unique, meaningful, and helpful beyond surface-level info?

Example:

If you're writing a recipe post, make sure it's based on your own kitchen experience—not just a copy of existing content with keywords stuffed in.

Tip: Align your content with real user intent, not just SEO tricks.

Conclusion:

Build Trust with WHO, HOW & WHY If you want your content to rank and stay visible, you need more than just keywords and meta tags. Google wants to know:

  • Who wrote it – Is the author credible?
  • How it was created – Is it original and insightful?
  • Why it exists – Does it serve users or only chase traffic?

Focus on people-first, value-driven content, and Google will reward you in the long run.

Final Tip:

Before hitting publish, ask yourself: Does my content demonstrate Experience? Is it backed by Expertise? Does it build Authority and Trust? If yes, you’re already on the path to strong E-E-A-T and better rankings.
